Pokiri completes 500 Days



A new record has been set in the 75-year history of Telugu cinema as “Pokiri”, the blockbuster Telugu movie, ran for 500 days in Kurnool city. The Mahesh Babu-starrer, which was released on April 28th, 2006, completed 500 days on Sunday. The movie is running in a small theatre after completing 175 days on the big screen. This is the first time in the history of the Telugu film industry that a movie has run for over a year. The Puri Jagannath directed Pokiri surpassed the record of Premabhishekam, in which ANR played lead role. Premabhishekam ran for 365 days. However, Pokiri created several records, including running 100 days in 200 centers, 175 days in 63 centers, 200 days in 15 centers and 300 days in two centers.
